Chris Geilman's Condition

October 29, 1997: Chris Geilman is still enjoying the hugs and kisses she has missed for so long. She recently went to her son Matt's football game, an opportunity she has had to give up previously. She is still doing very well, free from the SMS symptoms, requiring much rest but no longer affected by sudden sound, sight, or touch. She received 4 treatments of plasma phoresis, the temporary treatment which has given her a normal life again. Now that Mrs. Geilman is doing better, the Geilman's attention can be more focused on finding a permanent solution to this mysterious disease.

"Obviously, the personal burdens of life vary from person to person, but every one of us has them. Furthermore, each trial in life is tailored to the individual's capacities and needs as known by a loving father in heaven."

Howard W. Hunter, Former President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
